Gryphendale is the name of the faerie world located as a floating island inside of the earth. In ancient days, the faerie realm had been called the Gryphon’s Inner Dale with the human world being the Outer Dale. Time passed and the human and faerie forgot each other so that the humans called themselves just earth as though no other realm existed and the faerie called themselves Gryphendale, merging the title into one meaningless name.
All of Lara Lee’s stories take place in this world. It is a world of faerie creature from the traditional fairytales of Europe, such as those in the Brother’s Grim’s collection and The Blue Fairy Book. None of the novels are retellings of fairytales, but are new advetures using a fairytale structure. Some lore from all over the world fill in the edges of this world in creative interpretation of the fairy kingdoms in the tales common to many cultures.
The Legends of Gryphendale Series is young adult fantasy fiction that is appropriate for readers from 12 years old and up. It includes the novels Gryphendale, The Shadow of the Gryphon, The Gryphon’s Handmaiden, The Gyphon of Stone, and The Secrets of Cinnamon Cinderguard. Also, the series includes a short story anthology prequal, The Adventures of Sage Goliad. Coming soon in the newest novel in this world, Daughter of the Sea.
Each of the novels has a stand alone adventure that ends when the book ends, but the Truthseeker Trilogy centers around the same characters for those three books. Join the adventure. Learn more about where you can meet Lara at her next in person event here:

The Tale of Despereaux has been around awhile, I have been wanting to read it for years. It is a children’s novel and appropriate for the young chapter book readers, but the plot appealed to me even as an adult. I also have to admit that the gorgeous illustrations drew me in as well. I…
I am a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson’s novels. I really should post more reviews of them, but when I first started reading his work, they were considered adult fantasy fiction. This was because the main characters were adults. Now, most of his novels have teen main characters and fit the young adult rules. Whatever.…
The Walking Drum is a historical novel that is very different from the westerns that made Louis L’Amour famous. The book is a stand-alone only because Louis L’Amour never write the sequal he hinted at at the end of the book. Even so, it does have an ending and I found the book very enjoyable.…
Lara Lee put together a strong cast of characters, with a good plot and fascinating world building.

It was a relaxing adventure, like one you read by a fire with a cup of cocoa.
